About the association

A professional home for constellation practice in Southern Africa.

SCASA is a volunteer-led, non-profit membership association for Family, Systems and Organisational Constellations facilitators and trainers.

Our purpose

Careful practice, shared learning and accountability.

Constellation work helps make patterns in families, organisations and wider systems visible. SCASA supports the people who practise this work and the people who seek their guidance.

We connect the public with listed practitioners, encourage continued professional and personal development, and support a community of peers who take ethics and professional responsibility seriously.

Listing is an indication of a practitioner’s membership and published information. Practitioners work independently and remain professionally and legally responsible for their own practice.

Our vision

A dynamic, reflective and conscientious field.

SCASA encourages the development of a living practice that is thoughtful about its methods, attentive to context and mindful of potential harm, even when actions are well-intentioned.

We set strategic objectives for the association’s growth and direction while keeping the well-being of the constellation community at the centre of our decisions. Good governance, transparency and ethical conduct guide our work.

History

From a training community to a Southern African association.

The Systems Constellations Association of South Africa was founded as a professional association for people trained by Family Constellations Africa. When that organisation discontinued its work in 2008, SCASA inherited its logo and continued the task of supporting trained, skilled professionals and the growth of constellation work in South Africa.

SCASA has since welcomed trainers and training graduates who meet internationally recognised guidelines in systemic work. Today it offers members the benefits of a professional organisation and a community of peers across Southern Africa.

A volunteer community

Governance that stays close to its members.

SCASA is managed by volunteers. The board meets throughout the year to discuss the association’s development and service to its community, and members are welcome to bring questions and ideas to board members.

The association also creates opportunities for community members to share experiences, learn from one another and develop a sense of belonging to the wider Southern African facilitator community.
